Constipation should be treated by increasing water intake and adjusting your diet

• Macrogol oral powder acts as a bulking agent and encourages the rectum to expel the stool
• If the stool is really hard and difficult to push out then the glycerin suppositories can be used. Insert one into the bottom as high as you can get is and hold it for as long as possible before going to the toilet
• Constipation can lead to the development of piles (haemorrhoids)
